At Ahold Delhaize USA, days of service have become an integral part of our company’s culture and values. This past week, our interns participated in a day of service – an event entirely coordinated by the interns - partnering with various nonprofit organizations dedicated to diverse missions. Our interns volunteered their time with organizations such as DC Central Kitchen, The Salvation Army, Preble Street, Community Servings and Rowan Helping Ministries offering their support to their local communities. From sorting and organizing food and clothing items, to preparing and portioning meals, our interns played a critical role in carrying out daily tasks that enable these organizations to serve those in need. Here at Ahold Delhaize USA, we believe working in grocery is like being like being part of a big family so when one of us wins, we all celebrate! Today we’re proud to share that the daughter of one of our own is heading to Paris for the Summer 2024 Olympics—not many people can say their teenage daughter is competing in the Olympics, but Payroll Director Andre Ferguson can. His 17-year-old daughter, Zuri, has been named to Trinidad and Tobago’s Olympic swim team and will compete in Paris this summer. So, how does it make her dad feel?   “Excitement, pride, anxiousness – just to name a few,” says Andre. “We’re extremely proud of the work she’s put in to get to this point. Zuri has been a standout swimmer from an early age. She broke records and continues to hold multiple age group records in New England swimming.  She puts in a tremendous amount of work in the pool, out of the pool and in her schoolwork.” Congratulations Zuri and to the proud parents! #Olympics2024

We’ll be sharing stories of ADUSA service members throughout the month - highlighting our veterans, active-duty military and military families. We encourage you to also show support - shopping veteran-owned products, volunteering with veteran organizations, or simply reaching out to thank a veteran in your life.

As we wrap up Pride Month, we want to take this opportunity to celebrate all our amazing Ahold Delhaize USA associates who volunteered or celebrated at Pride Festivals, like the one in Salisbury, N.C., June 22. The event featured a parade and was packed with vendors, music, and performances, while offering a safe environment for everyone to be themselves. Our associates celebrated with attendees and displayed ADUSA's support of the LGBTQIA community, while sharing information about the company and providing fun giveaways. #AholdDelhaizeUSA #PrideMonth

During a kickoff event earlier this month, ADUSA launched GitHub Copilot, a generative AI tool from Microsoft designed to help developers write code faster and with improved security and quality.
