We are proud to share our annual foundation fundraiser, Bright Lights & Big Dreams 2024, raised more than $245,000 this year! The money raised will help the Affinity Plus Foundation impact lives all across the state of Minnesota through its grants and scholarship programs, focusing on housing stability, financial well-being, food security and access to education. Celebrating our employees is one of our favorite things at Affinity Plus, and we recently took time to recognize all their hard work with a Blast from The Past-themed Employee Appreciation Week! We believe that Affinity Plus employees are the heart and soul of this cooperative. Thank you, employees — we couldn’t be prouder of you and of all that you do for our members. 💜

This past Saturday, employees of Affinity Plus and their families took to the streets of Minneapolis and walked to end Alzheimer's. This is the 5th year Affinity Plus has participated in the Twin Cities Walk to End Alzheimer's, and this year our team raised more than $4,500! From the first walk 5 years ago, to today, we are grateful to have a team of employees to advocate, support and share in this cause. Our walks have looked different over the years, but the community we have created at Affinity Plus through our Elder Caregiver employee resource group, and the support we have for each other is truly amazing.

The one thing that hasn’t changed is that I do enjoy seeing members in and out of work and helping them is very rewarding for me. I have met so many great people. I love that they trust me and share all of their life experiences. For 10 days, Minnesotans came together to raise over $25,000 for the Affinity Plus Foundation’s Donate to Defeat Hunger campaign! That means over 77,000 meals will go to our neighbors experiencing hunger across the state. Thanks to everyone who participated and made this first year a success! $80,000 in scholarships from the Affinity Plus Foundation was awarded to deserving student members across the state! 20 recipients each received a $4,000 scholarship for this school year to put toward the cost of books and tuition.
