As college campuses bustle back to life with the start of a new academic year, we love seeing students fill the buildings and spaces we've had the privilege to design. From the moment students step into these spaces, whether it's a state-of-the-art lecture hall, a cozy study nook, or a vibrant common area, we hope they feel inspired and empowered to learn, collaborate, and grow. Each design element—from the flow of natural light to the ergonomic furniture—has been carefully considered to enhance the student experience. As students head back to classes, we're reminded of why we do what we do: to create environments that support education and enrich students’ lives. We loved having you here this summer, Pheobe! Our summer internship program is one of the best and we are so glad you enjoyed it. Good luck with the school year ahead! 🎓
I have just finished my second year as an intern at AE Works Ltd. and I could not have asked for a better summer. This year I had the opportunity to do work in the urban planning world alongside Brian Shaffer and Tiffany Haile. Working with the Planning and Project Services team at AE Works was an exciting experience because I was able to switch my perspective on the architecture industry and learn more about disciplines I would likely not see outside of this internship. After being part of both the architecture and planning/project services teams at AE Works, I am able to go into the daunting post-grad future with a clearer image of how I want to contribute to the industry and the world. I am grateful to everyone that gave me opportunities and helped me learn this summer including Michael A. Cherock, PE, Larry Payne, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, and of course, Tiffany, Brian, and Adam Homer. Thank you all for a great second year! I appreciate everyone that made it an amazing summer.
