One click and a moment of vulnerability is all it takes and that is what happened at the County of Los Angeles’ Department of Public Health (DPH). A data breach at the Department of Public Health exposed the personal information of 200,000 individuals. Caused by a phishing attack between February 19 and 20, 2024, this breach compromised the credentials of 53 Public Health employees. This is a good reminder of how Vigilance is Crucial: Cybersecurity is everyone's responsibility. One moment of carelessness can lead to massive repercussions. What can organizations do to prevent such attacks? 📍 Raise awareness - Employees can learn to recognize the signs of social engineering and phishing attacks, and how to respond appropriately.
