This week, we’d like to showcase Scotty Olson for our #cpcs highlight. Scotty is our Senior CNC Programmer and has been with ABG for about a year. Scotty has done a great job of growing into his position and is always looking for ways to improve. Although he has only been here for a year, Scotty has really had the ability to truly make an impact at the company and says that he enjoys the level of autonomy he’s given to diagnose a problem or inefficiency and fix it. During his time here, Scotty said that the most memorable thing he’s experienced so far is visiting Chicago for the Fabtech convention. It was his first ever business trip and it was to an event wholly focused on the most advanced manufacturing equipment on the market. He said that he really enjoyed his time there, learning about new advances in manufacturing equipment, and being able to bring that knowledge back to help plan for improvements in our manufacturing here. He even got to see a few other ABG employees that live in the area and aren’t in our Ohio office as much. Outside of work, Scotty is a self-described family man, through and through. He loves spending time with his family and says that there's nothing better than walking through the front door at the end of a long day to the sound of little feet hitting floorboards and his son giggling because he's happy that Scotty’s home. He also has a very strong interest in history and loves to share random facts with other team members at ABG. As far back as he can remember it's always been a genuine joy for him to discover the past and try to learn from it.
