Beginning in 2022, the Advance Auto Parts Foundation Future Technicians Scholarship has been awarded annually to five students enrolled in Wake Technical Community College's automotive degree program. One of the first recipients, Alexander Kirschenbauer, credits the scholarship for his decision to pursue a career in the automotive industry as it helped cover educational expenses and provided funds to purchase necessary tools and equipment. Alexander recently graduated from the Automotive Systems Technology program at Wake Tech and has begun a full-time role as a technician at a nearby dealership. We are incredibly proud of Alexander and all past and present scholarship recipients for their hard work and dedication to the automotive industry. Our store teams continue to collaborate with law enforcement across the country to expand the “Advancing Our Roads” gift card program. In June, our Roanoke, Va., store team announced a gift card donation to Sheriff Antonio Hash and Roanoke City Sheriff's Office. We are proud to launch this program to enhance vehicle safety and support motorists in the community where our journey as a company began over 90 years ago. We'd like to recognize Scott B. from our store in Stroudsburg, Pa., for being a true hero. On the evening of June 21, Scott was traveling on I-80 when a tractor trailer overturned in front of him. Scott wasted no time jumping out of his vehicle and coming to the aid of the driver, pulling them out of the vehicle and to safety before the truck was overtaken by flames.
