Last week, Adient Trencin completed its 16th summer internship program. Ten students from various European technical universities collaborated on projects, including modifying a children’s car for a handicapped child.
Last Thursday, we successfully finished the 16th year of Summer Internship program in Adient Trencin. During the last 4 weeks, a group of 10 students from different technical universities had the opportunity to work together on one technical topic which usually cover an issue engineering department experienced in the past and students needs to analyze this issue and come up with solution. They also participated in the modification of a children's car for a handicapped child. Both project under guidance of our internal mentors. Thanks to the early intervention center in Trenčín which we collaborate with, we were able to identify a 1.5-year-old boy (Jurko) who cannot walk on his own and cannot even sit properly. As a joint project, the 10 interns modified the car to fit the child's needs. The customized car was handed over to the boy and his family. Based on his interest, car was rebuilt to police car with all the flashing lights, sounds additional sounds of different animals or children music. Jurko is now able to sit upright and is safely accommodated at home what would not be possible with an ordinary children's car. Despite the fact that we organize Summer Internship program every year, each group of students is different, but their commitment and dedication to learn something new and also make a day to little child keeps the same every year.
