Daniel Koziel had a customer visit the Tampa office to dive into Cognex Corporation patented Multi-Reader Sync (MRS) technology. In this application, the customer has 1D barcodes on different sides of the packaging that can't be seen from a single point of view. By using MRS, we setup the readers in a Master/Slave configuration and enabled group triggering. This way a single external trigger simultaneously triggers both readers, aggregates the results, and returns a single decoded result for the entire group. Use cases: - Reading codes on multiple surfaces - Reading codes across a large FOV - Reading codes on spinning round objects where barcode orientation is random - Up to 30 readers can be synced together in one MRS setup This MRS feature is available on many DataMan platforms and is standard on the entry level DM280.
