  • Our new district middle school Family Outreach Liaison, Veronica Martinez, supports Rocky Top, Century, Shadow Ridge, and Westlake Middle Schools. This Fall, she coordinated efforts with families across all four schools to offer Love and Logic classes to interested families in those communities. Her first class took place on September 16 and had a great turn out! We anticipate this parent and caregiver group to continue to grow as trusting relationships are formed! #ElevateSuccess #FiveStarProud

  • This week and throughout the year, we appreciate the hard work of the more than 1,500 classified employees. Classified employees play crucial roles in our schools and communities. From transporting and feeding students to teaching them important skills and ensuring that schools are operating smoothly, classified employees are integral in providing a comfortable and safe learning environment for all students. Today we are highlighting some of our Nutrition Services employees. Their hard work is essential to the Five Star Community every day. Thank you for all you do! #ELEVATESuccess #FiveStarProud

  • The Marine Corps League Broomfield Detachment, through its Leathernecks for Learning initiative, recently raised $4005.25 for the Adams 12 Five Star Schools Student and Family Outreach Program (SFOP). This program removes barriers for students and families who need connections to community resources as well as access to basic needs such as food, clothing, and shoes. This generous donation will allow SFOP to purchase much needed school supplies so that every Adams 12 Five Star Schools student enters their school day prepared and ready for learning! #ElevateSuccess #FiveStarProud

  • Through the Music Arts program, the non-profit organization, Can’d Aid, works to inspire the next generation of artists and musicians. They partner with nationally touring bands to facilitate instrument donations at music programs in school districts nationwide. Can’d Aid collaborated with Centennial Elementary music teacher, Alicia Ericson, to donate a hand painted ukulele to each Centennial fifth grader. This generous donation is inspiring them to learn how to play and live more creative lives. #ElevateSuccess #FiveStarProud

  • Happy School Custodian Day to all of our custodians across the district! These professionals keep our schools safe and clean for everyone. They are integral to elevating student success every day. Special thanks to Colorado Department of Education for highlighting staff and students at Rocky Top Middle School! #ElevateSuccess #FiveStarProud

  • The P-TEACH program is inspiring and preparing the next generation of educators right here in Adams 12 Five Star Schools. Through concurrent enrollment courses with CU Denver, students gain early college credit while learning from exemplary teachers within our schools. Participants also engage in hands-on internship experiences, honing their skills and passion for teaching. Not only are we inspiring high school students, but P-TEACH has also opened doors for our paraeducators, instructional classified staff, and BASE employees to pursue their passion for education and take steps toward teacher licensure. As a new initiative, P-TEACH aims to be a transformational force in shaping the future of education in the Five Star District. #ELEVATESuccess #FiveStarProud

  • All Adams 12 Five Star Schools 8th graders participated in the Adams County Career Expo on September 17 and 18 at Riverdale Regional Park. To prepare for the event, school counselors helped students explore their interests and careers and learn about handshakes, dress, and communication skills to talk to business and industry partners. Students showed up excited and nervous to meet new people, experience hands-on activities and learn about exciting career pathways. FutureForward Bollman and Washington Square students also attended to staff some booths and teach 8th graders about career pathways they are engaged. Empowering students to be future-ready and architects of their lives! #ELEVATESuccess #FiveStarProud

  • These Blueprint Funding Proposals have resulted from more than a year-long engagement process to identify the community’s values and priorities for schools across the district. The bond investment (Ballot Issue 5E) would support building needs at every school. We will update school connectivity to maintain critical school safety features, phone service, and Internet access. • Thornton High School has a long tradition of empowering our Latina students through partnership with the Latinas First Foundation. Since the opening of the Newcomer Center last year in 2023, we are expanding that tradition by connecting students from within the Newcomer Center and those in the larger THS population to this organization. On September 13, Kelsey Barnes (THS G/T Advocate and Academic Coordinator) and Rae Ann Armijo (Newcomer Center Counselor) took a group of accomplished Latina students to the annual Latinas First Lunch. The motto of this organization is "Girls Can Be What They Can See." This statement rang especially true as a Lorena Vergara Gomez, a 2023 graduate of Thornton High and a previous student at the Newcomer Center was recognized for winning a scholarship to the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. We were thrilled that some of our current students with big dreams were able to meet a former student that is making her own big dream a reality. #ELEVATESuccess #FiveStarProud
