This past weekend, the AD team gathered for our annual summer LobsterFest – a day filled with delicious food, fun activities, and the warmth of our extended work family. It was an evening of fun, laughter, and camaraderie as we celebrated the season and the core values that shape our company. We also had the opportunity to celebrate an employee milestone, as Aline just reached her 20-year anniversary with company. Big thanks to Seth Greenberg's Just Desserts for an amazingly decadent caramel pecan brownie cake that helped us celebrate this fabulous occasion! Social gatherings, such as our summer party, play a pivotal role at AD. They enable us to embody our core value of community, foster collaboration and team building, and forge meaningful connections that spark new possibilities. Cheers to this year’s party and the many more to come! #SummerParty #CorporateCulture #TeamCelebration #CoreValues

Last week the members of AD’s Stamford office met with long time AD member Dave Burnor for a behind the scenes tour of the Arthur Ashe Stadium in Flushing, NY. Dave happily shared his and the stadium’s history with the team as they toured the facilities. Through team building events such as these, we’re able to strengthen our company culture, further build on our internal relationships, enhance communication with team members, and to reinforce our core value of Community. #DesignInHarmony #CoreValues #Community

Today as we order his newest released book “A Sense of Theatre: The Untold Stories of the Creation of Britain’s National Theatre”, we remember and celebrate the life and legacy of Richard Pilbrow, a true pioneer in the world of theatre and lighting design. His innovative vision and passion transformed stages around the world, illuminating countless performances with his creative genius. AD Principal, David Kahn, first met Richard Pilbrow in 1985 while he was working with acoustician Russell Johnson. He quickly learned to appreciate the incredible synergy between Richard and Russell and how their collaboration revolutionized performing arts center design. Together, they helped David discover why magic happens in great historic theaters and concert halls, why that magic was lost in mid-20th century venues, and how to recapture that magic in a contemporary setting. For the last nearly 40 years, David has had the privilege to continue these high-level discussions with Richard as they navigated new venue designs with architects and industry professionals. Just last year, at his 90th birthday party (pictured below), they brainstormed a novel design approach for a new concert hall in London with a very limited available building footprint. Richard's work not only set new standards in theatre design but also inspired generations of designers to push the boundaries of their craft. His contributions will forever shine brightly in the history of theatre. Theatre Projects #RichardPilbrow #TheatreLegend #LightingDesign #TheatreProjects
