  • ACNM continues to be a vital partner in the AIM Program, and is happy to share a new resource developed by @allianceforinnovationonmaternalhealth in collaboration with community birth experts. The Community Birth Transfer Resource Kit (CBTRK) provides best practices for safe and timely transfers regardless of birth setting or care model. In this resource kit, “community birth” refers to planned birth at home or in a freestanding birth center, most commonly attended by midwives using the midwifery model of care. Creating systems that promote safer birth in all scenarios is a key component to improving the safety and quality of care provided to all patients. Download the full resource kit at: https://lnkd.in/g_nNQMMM

CEO Grow Midwives, LLC; March for Moms, Founding President/Board Member; Past President ACNM; Editor Top Selling Book, 2nd Ed., Nobody Told Me About That: Surviving and Thriving Through the Early Weeks of Parenting

One of my mentors, dear friends and Grow Midwives consultants Katherine Camacho Carr PhD, CNM sent these photos of the practice she started in Chicago, IL 50 years ago! From Kathy: “Here’s past and present midwives who work(ed) at Illinois Masonic medical center. We had a lovely celebration and I presented the ACNM With Women for a Lifetime commendation to Karen Wennerberg, CNM and Dr Tom Ianucci, Department Chair of OB GYN recognizing 50 years of service. It’s a wonderful legacy since they still care for many immigrant and refugee women as well as many diverse birthing families from inner city Chicago.” Congratulations to ALL for dedicating their time, effort, passion and belief to sustain and scale up midwifery 50 Years!! 🎉👏🎊 #yesyoucan #scalingupandsustainingmidwifery #illinoismasonicmedicalcenter
