A trusted partner, unlocking the potential beyond disabilities.
About us
Founded in 1940 as the Society for Crippled Children, we now serve children and adults with a broad range of disabilities and special needs including autism, cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and other physical and emotional challenges. Our unique, comprehensive service model weaves together therapy, intensive therapy, education and autism services, recreation, adapted sports and family support services to meet the needs of the entire family. The agency serves individuals across the lifespan, with a special focus on children from birth through age five. In Fiscal Year 2019-2020, many of the clients served by the Achievement Centers participated in or received multiple programs and services. Over the past year, the agency provided 194,201 service hours to more than 3,000 individuals and their families.

Our Sensory Trail is such an important space at Camp Cheerful and it recently got some wonderful additions, thanks to a local member of Girl Scouts of North East Ohio, Molly, as part of earning her Girl Scout Gold Award. Molly obtained all the funding and supplies and led a team in creating, building, and installing the new Music Station and Bird Activity Center on the Trail. We are honored and grateful that she chose to support our mission in such a special way! Thank you, Molly, and everyone who supported her project! #GirlScoutStrong #VolunteersMakeADifference #CampCheerful

As National Farriers Week comes to a close, we couldn’t miss the opportunity to thank the amazing farriers who support the horses in our Therapeutic Horsemanship program! Jim has been working with us for 21 years and Shawn for 16! Our horses are so lucky to benefit from their horseshoeing expertise! #FarriersWeek #CampCheerful

Our volunteers are the best! A group of more than two dozen Deloitte employees recently spent the day at Camp Cheerful painting, weeding, and working on our horse pasture. We are so grateful for their time! #VolunteersMakeADifference #CampCheerful
