I’d like to reflect on my experience with the America's Cutting Edge (ACE) Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine learning certification program at North Carolina A&T State University last year. I am very grateful for the opportunity I had as the youngest participant in the group. This program allowed me, a high school senior at the time, to immerse myself in operating and utilizing CNC machinery alongside collegiate peers. Throughout the program, we mastered Fusion360 and completed an intensive 3-week digital course within just one week. The mechanical, industrial, and technical skills I acquired significantly enhanced my understanding of engineering and expanded my perspective on STEM technology. I was honored to receive an “Engineering Technology” award for assembling a mechanism faster than any other member in the cohort. I’d like to thank the ACE Hub in North Carolina at N.C. A&T, Triet Phan, MBA, other members within the group, and family members who supported me. This experience was a pivotal step in my engineering journey, and I encourage other STEM-minded students to seek out similar opportunities for growth and learning.

🚀 Exciting News! 🚀 IACMI and the United States Department of Defense's IBAS Program has formed new partnerships with Penn State University, University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and Jobs for the Future (JFF) to combat workforce shortages in the U.S. casting and forging industry. 🏭🔧 DoD projects a need for 122,000 skilled personnel by 2028, and METAL aims to build a resilient workforce to sustain and advance our nation's capabilities through 2050. 🇺🇸🔩 “The shrinking supply chain and shortage of skilled labor demands an immediate response,” says Matthew Draper with DoD IBAS. “Our partnerships equip us to develop robust training programs that not only meet the immediate needs but also prepare the workforce for future technological advancements.
