ACCO is GROWING! We are excited to announce that ACCO Engineered Systems has completed our move into a state-of-the-art combined sheet metal and mechanical piping fabrication facility and commercial office in Sparks, NV. With 76,700 square feet of shop and office space, ACCO’s new Reno facility is now our third-largest fabrication site and the largest of its kind in Nevada. Since establishing our Reno branch in 1975, ACCO has been a proud member of the local community. In 2019, we expanded our presence by acquiring two Reno/Sparks mechanical firms. Over the past five years, we've built a strong team of local leaders, project managers, and tradespeople with deep ties to Northern Nevada. This new facility provides #TeamACCOES with the space needed to continue our growth and solidify our position as the local leader in the design, fabrication, installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial HVAC and plumbing systems throughout Northern Nevada. #HVAC #Plumbing #Construction #FacilityService

With school out for summer, ACCO is hard at work helping Sacramento-based campuses prepare for students' return this fall. Recently, #ACCOESSacramento replaced the rooftop mechanical units at Norwood Junior High School, as part of a project upgrading seven sites throughout the Twin Rivers Unified School District. On this project, CORE led the team while #TeamACCOES provided the #HVAC solutions for the schools. Due to the campus layout and equipment size, we used a helicopter rig instead of a conventional crane, reducing lift time from several days to just one hour. This approach provided significant time and cost savings for the owner. Over the last few weeks, ACCO welcomed two groups of local high school students to join our NorCal and SoCal teams for a summer of immersive training and education in the skilled construction trades as part of the Heavy Metal Summer Experience (#HMSE).   HMSE introduces high school students and recent graduates to careers in the building trades through hands-on projects, working alongside craft professionals, and introductions to local apprenticeship training opportunities. Throughout these sessions, the students worked with ACCO professionals to gain hands-on experience in the trades and explore the different career opportunities in sheet metal, service, and piping at our Commerce and San Leandro California fabrication facilities.   ACCO's San Leandro office first became involved with HSME in 2022, this was the first year we hosted the program in both NorCal and SoCal. Last week was the end of the 3-week program as the students graduated, with special guests from the local unions.   ACCO is incredibly honored to be part of this important program. We want to give a special thanks to Red Wing Shoe Co., DEWALT, and Norman S. Wright Mechanical Equipment Corporation for their donations to the program. ACCO recently participated in the DBIA Western Pacific Region Bay Area Golf Tournament as the event's Title Sponsor. #TeamACCOES had a fantastic day out on the greens, and to top it all off our participating group was awarded the prestigious Honest Golfer Award, the TOP score of the day. Proceeds from the event go on to support important student scholarships and educational programs. The Design-Build Institute of American (#DBIA) promotes the value of design-build project delivery and teaches the effective integration of design and construction services. June 23rd marked #InternationalWomeninEngineeringDay (INWED)! We proudly celebrate the incredible women working in engineering on #TeamACCOES who continuously drive innovation, pursue excellence, and lead as mentors to the next generation of women engineers.  #INWED recognizes the hard work and passion of women in #engineering who have helped pave the way for the next generation of women in #construction. Together, we can create a more diverse and dynamic #AEC industry.

We feel like every day is a great day to celebrate the dedication and contributions of our talented HVAC technicians, but today is extra important as National HVAC Tech Day! For the past 30 years June 22 has been designated as National HVAC Tech Day so everyone can express appreciation to those who keep our homes and commercial buildings not only comfortable, but safe for all occupants. If you're on a rooftop, in a mechanical room, or sweating in someone's attic - we want to say THANKS! Everyday you make the lives around you so much better! With the official start of Summer occurring yesterday, be sure to offer your favorite HVAC technicians a hearty thanks - and maybe a cool drink to counter the rising temperatures we'll all be experiencing these next few months.
