We’re excited to share our $4.6M seed investment in VoidZero, founded by Yuxi You (Evan You), the creator of Vue and Vite. Evan's ambitious vision is to address the fragmentation in JavaScript tooling by creating a high-performance, unified toolchain for developers starting with Vite. Since Vite’s launch in 2020, the project has grown to over 15 million weekly downloads on NPM, and Evan has assembled a stellar team of creators and contributors from projects like Vite, Vitest, Oxc, Rolldown, and Rspack. Vite is one part of a larger vision that includes Rolldown and Oxc.  We’re delighted to welcome Evan and the VoidZero team to the #AccelFamily as they help create a simple and fast experience for JavaScript developers everywhere. This past Saturday, we held the first-ever CUDA Mode IRL hackathon, hosted by Accel in collaboration with PyTorch and NVIDIA. What initially started as a reading group pioneered by Mark Saroufim and Andreas Köpf, evolved into an incredible 14-hour event in SF. Highlights: 🛠️ The hackathon went from 10 a.m. to midnight, and 200 developers from all over the world joined us 🎤 Six technical talks from industry leaders, including Tri Dao (Flash Attention 3), Supriya Rao (PyTorch), and Andrej Karpathy (Eureka Labs, llm.c) 👩🏻💻 Hands-on hacking sessions guided by experts 🌙 Evening presentations by Lily (Xiaoxuan) Liu (vLLM), Tim Dettmers (how open source can win), and Wen-mei Hwu (NVIDIA) 🏆 40 team submissions with top projects winning tons of compute credits 4080s signed by Jensen Huang The event showcased the latest in GPU optimizations, performance tuning, and scalable inference. It was inspiring to see this community come together IRL, share knowledge, and push the boundaries of what's possible in the space.
