We might be too busy soon, align your team now! Fiscal year 2025 just began. Hiring at US companies picked up in September, snapping a five-month stretch of slower payrolls growth. Private payrolls increased 143,000 last month after an August advance that was the weakest since March 2023, according to the ADP Research Institute in collaboration with Stanford Digital Economy Lab. The Bloomberg survey of economists had called for a gain of 125,000 jobs. https://lnkd.in/gnjX9nEF
The American economy is seemingly fairing so well that UBS has signaled a potential return to the glory days. The European finance giant believes Uncle Sam is inching closer to a “Roaring ’20s” scenario, placing the likelihood of an incoming booming economic cycle at 50%. https://lnkd.in/dgnvPKUq

I talk to customers and dealers often and we know that charging remains an obstacle to electric vehicle adoption. Nearly 90% of auto shoppers say they're more likely to buy an electric vehicle if they knew they could fill it up at home. So we thought, “Why don’t we make this easy and just include a home charger with the vehicle?” So that’s what we’re going to do. If you buy or lease a new Ford electric vehicle, we’ll include a complimentary home charger with standard installation. This is part of something we’re calling the Ford Power Promise, which is about giving our electric vehicle customers convenience, peace of mind and expert service. You can read more about the Ford Power Promise below. We’re excited about this, so I’m looking forward to hearing your feedback and questions! In news that may not surprise some, Sam Altman thinks people who are worried about artificial intelligence taking their jobs should get really good at using the technology. https://lnkd.in/gXXCAJBv
Google paid an eye-popping $2.7 billion for a deal that brought 48-year-old Character.ai founder Noam Shazeer back into the fold, according to a recent report by The Wall Street Journal. Now, that didn't all go to Shazeer — Google didn't formally acquire the company but paid to license the startup's technology — but the AI engineer made hundreds of millions, the Journal reported, citing a source familiar with the matter. https://lnkd.in/gUnjXJBu
Gone are the days of a plethora of work-from-home jobs and quiet quitting. These days, most American workers may be more worried about being laid off than having to choose between dueling job offers — that is if they even have a job. The businesses are back on top. https://lnkd.in/gzz8y4TJ
These examples show that age is no barrier to success. Experience and persistence are key assets in building something impactful. Success has no deadline—just a unique timeline for everyone. Keep pushing forward.
You are not too old and it is not too late. Arianna Huffington started the Huffington Post at 55. Julie Wainwright created The RealReal at 53. Bernard Marcus opened the first Home Depot at 50. Viola Davis achieved EGOT status at 57. Harland Sanders founded KFC at 62. Ray Kroc franchised the first McDonalds at 52. Ellen Latham was 54 when she created Orange Theory. I never thought I would be starting something “new” after age 50 but life is interesting in that it challenges you in so many unexpected ways. For me… I still felt an urge that was impossible to ignore to keep creating better options for women. The self doubt was loud but my calling was louder. Launching Sneex has been the most fun I’ve had in years. Look at all the people who have accomplished great success after 50. We have entire award categories dedicated to the things that people accomplish before 30 and 40… but that’s just the first act. The second act can be just as amazing as the first. You just have to have the courage to keep reinventing yourself. #MondayMotivation #MondayMugShot #NeverTooOld
