The A400 has arrived in Germany – and the timing couldn’t be better! Yesterday was World EV Day, and as part of the Early Adopter Program we successfully installed our A400 All-In-One Fast Charger for DACHSER SE in Dortmund. This new charger delivers up to 400 kW for a single vehicle which significantly reduces charging times. With Dortmund being one of DACHSER’s 12 zero-emission delivery regions in Europe, this is an ideal location to put the A400 to the test. In logistics, reliability is key – particularly in last-mile delivery, where schedules are tight. Yet, the EV charging industry continues to face challenges, such as limited grid capacity, inefficient asset management, and underperforming software, all of which impact operational reliability. At ABB E-mobility our purpose is to help our customers Electrify Mobility. Therefore, we are excited to partner with DACHSER, a leading European logistics provider. Our partnership gives us the perfect opportunity to see how the A400 performs in real-world fleet operations. ABB E-mobility and Fastned announced today that Fastned will deploy ABB E-mobility’s A400 All-in-One charger in the Netherlands. The A400 All-in-One charger is an example of ABB E-mobility and Fastned’s shared mission to provide customers with the best possible charging experience. Two A400 chargers have been installed at Fastned’s largest charging location in the Netherlands, Den Ruygen Hoek-West, on the A4 highway. Electrifying heavy duty trucking is a key step toward a more sustainable transport industry. Ragn-Sells isn’t just building charging infrastructure to electrify their own fleet, they’re offering charging services to other heavy duty trucking fleets, as well. Utilizing the Swedish Energy Agency’s innovative regional electrification pilot program, Ragn-Sells needed a seamless and reliable charging solution to meet the charging demands of heavy-duty trucking. Earlier this month, the @Rhode Island Public Transit Authority cut the ribbon on ABB E-mobility 450kW overhead pantograph chargers that will help power the electric buses traveling Rhode Island’s first fully electric public route, the R-Line. Four pantographs will be deployed and are part of Rhode Island’s first electric bus in-line charging facility. Electrifying the R-line is converting 20 percent of RIPTA passenger trips to zero emissions. ABB E-mobility is proud to deliver the innovative technology transit partners like RIPTA need to power reliable, more sustainable transportation and congratulate them on achieving a milestone along that journey.
