The Environmental Collaborative (ECO) is our newest employee resource group! ECO’s mission is to promote associate engagement in activities that support sustainability, including reducing waste, environmental stewardship, and increasing energy efficiency. Congratulations to the inaugural members: Richard Romer, Trounja Baltimore, Kelly Matos, Eric Violland, and Brittany Moye. We are thrilled about the new sustainable initiatives they will launch! As its first order of business, ECO is participating in a "Go Green" educational webinar series for associates that provides practical tips for sustainable living.    Stay tuned for more engaging activities - including an onsite community garden! 🌱

Happy Collector Car Appreciation Day! 🚗✨ Our very own Dana Sprague, PMP, CSM, CSPO, Senior Project Manager - IT, PMO, is the president of the DeLorean Club of Florida and has been restoring cars since he was 17 years old. He's been a car enthusiast all his life, and his 1981 DeLorean is a testament to his passion. This early production DeLorean, marked by the fuel door on the hood and the darker gray shade on the fascias and wheels, boasts the original PRV 2.85L aluminum V6 engine, a 5-speed manual transmission, and a black interior with just 33,000 miles. It's impossible to talk about the DeLorean without mentioning its iconic status from the Back to the Future trilogy, which introduced Dana to the car back in 1985. Owning this beauty for 11 years, Dana remains amazed by its broad appeal. Whether at car shows, driving around, or just stopping for gas, people from all age groups recognize and admire it as the Back to the Future car. Restoring the car was a labor of love, taking 4 years of spare time. As a project manager, Dana approached it systematically, focusing on one system at a time: brakes, fuel, engine cooling, and more. Highlights include: ⭐ Five autographs from Back to the Future cast members on a visor, including Doc Brown and Marty McFly. ⭐ The car title date is October 21, 2015, celebrated as "Back to the Future Day." ⭐ The car has received six awards at various car shows. For anyone interested in the car collector hobby, check out local events. This group brings together industry leaders from across the world to share information and best practices on the topic of mobility. Last month, the GMA gathered in Dearborn, Michigan, for a symposium focused on Corporate Strategy. There is still time to donate new socks and toiletries until July 26 to help our heroes in need. AAA Cares is partnering with the Central Florida chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) to make a difference. Associates are asked to bring in new socks and travel-sized toiletries. Donation boxes will be placed around the National office on the 3rd floor. PVA will distribute these items this summer to those in need. #AAACares #SupportOurVeterans #CommunitySupport

A Memorable Week: Celebrating Our President and CEO's Road to Retirement This past week has been an incredible journey as we celebrated Marshall Doney’s retirement with a series of heartfelt events. It kicked off with "Donuts with Doney," where we wrote notes of thanks and gratitude for his incredible leadership. On Wednesday, Marshall took a triumphant victory lap, visiting each department where he was treated to memorable skits, dances, and songs to honor him. The party didn’t stop there! His sendoff lunch was the highlight of the week, featuring a roast filled with laughter and memories of his remarkable contributions. Yesterday, we reflected on Marshall's journey at AAA and his impact on all of us. There were several special presentations, including a $10,000 donation to one of his favorite charities, the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando, and the unveiling of the new name of our mentorship program, which now bears his name.   As we said our final goodbyes, Marshall departed with his family by his side down a red carpet lined with cheering (and maybe some crying) Associates.   Thank you to everyone who made this week so special. After an incredible 40-year career in the travel industry, Paula Twidale will retire at the end of this year. Paula began her career in the airline industry but soon followed her passion for leisure travel where she's marked many milestones, including serving as the first woman board chair of the United States Tour Operators Association. While at AAA, Paula transformed the travel business, expanding the products, services, and experiences available to our members. She led the organization through the pandemic, helping AAA fill a critical role in providing travelers with a calming and trusted guide. Paula has also regularly advocated on behalf of the traveling public, meeting with legislators to discuss important issues around consumer protections. Stacey Barber, Executive Director for AAA Travel, succeeds Paula as Vice President of Travel Services. In her new role, Stacey will lead the vision for AAA Travel, building on the momentum gained under Paula’s leadership and, most importantly, continuing to help our members and other travelers plan their dream vacations. https://lnkd.in/e8ARAZDe
