An advertising campaign cannot focus on achieving everything; the more defined its objective, the better you can organise it and the better the results you will obtain. It is essential to define clear and specific goals to focus efforts and resources effectively. Having a well-defined objective makes it easier to select the most appropriate advertising strategies and tools, which in turn allows for more precise measurement of success and necessary adjustments to optimise the campaign. A clear and limited goal is a key factor in the success of any advertising campaign.

Where your audience is will be key to the decision on the platforms you pick for the campaign. It is important to be where your target consumer is. For instance in India the social apps one would typically advertise for youth from tier 2/ 3 cities would be different ( E.g. Josh/Moj/ TakaTak) vs tier 1 ( E.g. Instagram, Snapchat). Similarly if you want to target boomers/ elder millennials you may opt for Facebook, however for younger millennial and gen z you would go to Instagram.

Qué marcas sigue; hábitos de compras, viajes y otros intereses particulares. In this case the audience might have already seen the advertisement and tends to by-pass it when he sees it again, but consistency will help him/us recall the core of the campaign and brand as well.

Platform Reach: Consider the platform's user base and reach. Platforms with a larger user base might be beneficial for broader campaigns, while niche platforms may be effective for targeted efforts.

Don't rely too confidently on previously successful formats. The landscape changes rapidly, and what worked yesterday may not work today. There's no standard formula for success. It's essential to adapt and refine your approach with each campaign, ensuring proper practice and staying agile to meet evolving demands.

There are four key elements to every communications system: (1) the transmitter (that you), (2) the receiver (your customer), (3) the communication channel (or platform) and (4) the signal (or message). For effective communications, you need to understand and be brutally honest about the characteristics of each of the four elements of the system you’re building. What are you truly capable of transmitting? What’s your audience capable of hearing, or reading, or seeing? What can the channel convey effectively and what are its inherent limitations. And lastly, what’s the message. Too often we jump to the message without really understanding the capabilities of the other parts of the system. It’s huge mistake.

In the process, I researched audience demographics to align with our consultancy niche. Using Facebook Ads complemented Google AD’s reach, tapping into a different user base. Regularly analysing performance metrics guided adjustments, ensuring our online presence remained dynamic and effective. It’s definitely an ongoing journey.
