I am a big fan of interactive elements. Start with doing call and response in the chat and then acknowledge some of the answers you see. It could be as easy as asking people to share where they are tuning in from. You can build in polls, word clouds, open ended Q&A and even gamify it a bit. I love to use mentimeter for engagement and an oldie but goodie know as Kahoot for some quick trivia or Q&A review. Have fun. Also, use music!! And sound effects.

We connect best through story. It is the greatest tool given to us as speakers to get across our message. Often we want to focus on our success stories, but we also need to share things from the other side. When we are able to share stories of our mistakes, misconceptions. mishaps. disappointments, and some of our failures, we can connect more with our audience because they can more easily identify with it. This allows the audience member to see that you are really no different from them.
