Starting with self awareness is the best place to begin. If they are not already consciously aware of their preferred working styles I would recommend that the entire team complete a profile assessment such as DISC or Gallup and have the differing styles and personalities explained to the entire group. This then gives them a better understanding of themselves and their team mates. From there I would move into a discussion with the team to brainstorm about solutions to move forward together.

Micromanagement is a no-go, but neither is abdicating your responsibility. By staying objective and avoiding personal biases, you can mediate effectively. Openly communicate with each team member, acknowledging their unique workstyles and emphasizing the importance of collaboration. If their styles are truly incompatible, consider a transfer to different teams or departments, prioritizing their individual needs while also safeguarding overall team and company interests. The goal is a win-win situation where everyone feels supported and valued.
