Somewhat important if you want to model fast. but most of the time it's your knowledge of design that does the talking. You can experiment with multiple features to find that some features complete the task quickly and keep the parametric as possible, also you can find that most features in the software can make your feature tree less cultured meaning you can achieve the same results in a short amount feature rather 4 or 5 features. Solidworks has an array of alternative advanced features that reduce time and effort. I suggest you try those and see if they benefit you in your modeling.
