The critical thing to remember here is that if someone owns a decryption key with access to encrypted decisions, they can obtain intermediate results. This problem is solved by distributing the key among several keyholders. A system where all the key holders are required for decryption is unreliable—if one of the key holders does not participate, decryption cannot be performed. Therefore, threshold schemes are used whereby a specific number of key holders are required to perform decryption.

I believe when it comes to challenges, several conditions need to be satisfied: Eligibility: Only legitimate voters should be able to take part in voting Unreusability: Each voter can vote only once; Privacy: No one except the voter can obtain information about the voter’s choice Fairness: No one can obtain intermediate voting results Soundness: Invalid ballots should be detected and not taken into account during tallying Completeness: All valid ballots should be tallied correctly.

Blockchain voting, despite its alluring potential, faces a multitude of roadblocks before widespread adoption. Implementing and maintaining secure systems demands significant technical expertise. While resisting large-scale attacks, vulnerabilities in individual devices or software pose risks. Balancing anonymity with verification and auditability raises privacy concerns. Furthermore, clear regulations and standards governing disputes, system certification, and information warfare are absent.Accessibility inequalities arise due to the digital divide and potential disenfranchisement.Public trust and acceptance necessitate education and dialogue about the technology's merits and downsides.

- The design of the voting system is critical with blockchain. The App accepting the input and its database are vulnerable to attacks. These are trusted by the blockchain itself and data coming from these will be accepted by the blockchain which can be a huge vulnerability. - The encryption for data in transit between the application and the blockchain and between the different nodes of the blockchain matters. - New vote by the same voter gets added in the blockchain as a new entry hence the application should accept only 1 vote per person and time stamps should be captured. - Strong IAM is a must throughout the system. - Update exchanged by blocks should have souce-based authentication. - App must be tied with device ID.

I think the best way to implement a blockchain based voting requires governments to develop and establish their own Blockchain networks. And not just voting, governments can use Blockchain networks in many other ways as well. But instead of directly moving to the national elections, governments should start using Blockchain-enabled voting systems in small scenarios and then scale it up based on the results and success.

Scalability isn't a buzzword. It's a hurdle. Can blockchain handle millions voting at once without crashing elections? We need rock-solid solutions, not just hype. Regulation isn't a roadblock. It's a map. Different countries have different rules, and blockchain voting has to navigate this legal maze responsibly. Trust me, shortcuts won't work. User adoption isn't magic. It's education. Not everyone's a tech whiz. Building trust and educating voters on blockchain is crucial. Remember, the best system is useless if people don't use it.

Bringing blockchain to the ballot box isn't a simple plug-and-play affair. Implementing it requires a multi-step orchestra. First, we need to pick the right blockchain platform and design a secure system with user-friendly interfaces. Integrating it with existing infrastructure is key, but legal hurdles await. Legislation needs to be written, standards set, and systems certified to ensure security and fairness. Keeping things anonymous while verifying votes poses privacy challenges, and robust encryption is vital. Solely, Blockchain technology is not enough to build a robust e-voting system that satisfies all the requirements needed such as Legitimacy, Integrity, Receipt-freeness, Coercion-resistance, and both Individual & Universal verifiability. It can satisfy verifiability and auditability, but at the cost of receipt-freeness and coercion-resistance, for example. Thus, there should be an underlying cryptographic approach (Verificatum for example) that can satisfy these essential requirements to have a robust e-voting system.

Online malicious interference can cause mistakes and undermine the entire voting process. In the end, more time, funding, testing, and audits are needed to properly deal with online security vulnerabilities and the role blockchain decentralized nature should play.
