I also would ensure that I have a good understanding of my team members through the skill-will matrix.

We may promote continual improvement and match individual efforts with the larger organizational goals by having candid, productive conversations.

Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs) as per my working experience has always been highly beneficial, when it comes to improving the efficiency score of your team members. Foster a culture of continuous improvement. Encourage team members to suggest and implement process improvements based on their experiences and insights. Promote collaboration and team building activities. A positive team dynamic contributes to increased motivation and efficiency. Regularly reassess and adapt these approaches to ensure ongoing improvement in team efficiency.

Recognition is not necessarily monetary always. When it is monetary it has to be differentiated enough to be perceived as a reward. Non monetary rewards help in motivation. Examples can be a 1:1 or a lunch with a leader with whom they would ordinarily not have the opportunity to interact. They should also be at a level where they could only their careers.

Performance incentives are essential for preserving and improving team productivity. These incentives, which might take the form of cash bonuses or chances for professional growth, support good behaviour and promote an excellence-oriented culture.

What it is missed above is one more step which is called - performance evaluation of the team. And what is the time horizon for the individual performance plans? 3. At which point the consequence management is to be done in terms of the team’s set up?

In order to improve performance, it is important to identify key performance indicator (KPI) dropping areas and focus on them. I think before any performance evaluation process, we should build a same language of performance and metrics and efficiency. If we agree on good and excellent performance criteria, we work better to identify the factor of efficiency reduction and provide the appropriate solutions.

It is also important to evaluate how the leader is doing. It is not always the fault of the employee in the team. A leader not qualifies for the role or one who is not able to empathise or inspire the team can also be the cause.
