Full fledged training/education system which should be cyclic and self sustained integrally in the main threads of organization 3. Clear two way communication & ownership feeling among the work force 4. Visible feedbacks on input received from the workforce 5. Chains & shackles free approach for reporting/harmonizing/realizing

My first step would be to rethink my decision to create a culture of safety. Since an organization has but one culture, I would instead focus on creating a healthy, positive, supportive, people-centered culture. From there, I would work to start creating a safety climate within the workplace. My first step would be to do a risk analysis to identify the various components I will need to include in my safety plan.

First step is to work on behaviour of self and other people who are working with you,as if they have attitude towards safety from within,everything will come automatically.

After defining your goals and engaged employees, you need to start implementing the Safety management culture policies and set indicators to monitor performance and progress. During this time you also learn and make adjustments to any lapses to strengthen your safety culture.

Consider implementing a "Safety Innovation Challenge" where employees are invited to submit creative solutions to improve safety practices within the organization. Encourage cross-departmental teams to collaborate on innovative ideas, offering incentives or recognition for the best proposals. In Google's seminal study on the most innovative organisations, what they found as the #1 critical element was psychological safety. Innovation comes when people feel safe to challenge the status quo. So, if you are looking to develop innovation within the company, whether it be safety innovation or something else, focus on developing the environment of psychological safety first and foremost. It is also worth noting that people go through four stages of psychological safety. They need to feel included, safe to learn, safe to contribute and then safe to challenge the status quo. When teams progress through the four stages, they create deeply inclusive environments, accelerate learning, increase contribution and stimulate innovation.

Promote safety awareness; encourage a culture of safety by promoting awareness of safety hazards, emphasizing the importance of safety-related activities, and fostering a proactive approach to identifying and addressing safety concerns.

In my company, we've implemented an innovation competition for each Dept/Site to showcase creative ideas within a specific scope. We form teams, we shortlist the most pertinent concepts and invite teams to present them during a pitching event. This event encompasses : current situation, innovative ideas, scalability, ROI, and implementation planning. Subsequently, judges evaluate and reward the top 3 innovative ideas.

As per my view , innovation can only be possible to promote and sustain if the culture of the organisation is favourable. Most importantly unbiased and honest ehs philosophy should be culminated by the top management . So,making them aligned to this is the toughest task to start for this to happen.
