What are the emerging trends in strategy innovation?

Agile strategy, although not novel, remains highly relevant today. Prioritize adaptability over rigid planning; encourage quick responses to changing markets through experimentation and collaboration. What's truly groundbreaking is the integration of AI-augmented development. Leverage artificial intelligence to accelerate the software development process, analyze market trends swiftly, and optimize efficiency and innovation.

Emerging is quite not right. It's trial and error. If something seem to work, then share the strategy and try to gain success on a bigger scale. There are a lot of creative people who launch great ideas. The success rate isn't great, it's a tremendous gamble everyday. So emerging, there's still no one strategy who rules them all so we're still attempting different ideas in different setups.

The key in implementing an agile strategy is to define your desired outcome and the framework that will lead to it. Then, depending on the nature of change in your business or industry, set regular review touch points. Stick to your strategic target, but make changes to the plan that will deliver the strategy. Try to assess the changing dynamics in your your ecosystem, adjust your short term actions accordingly. Don’t be afraid to try new ways and see what are the results, learn from those and build them back in your plan. If you fail, it’s ok, but fail fast and get back on track. Adopt a growth mindset and try to embrace the change as an opportunity to improve yourself and your business.

I don’t think that purpose is a trend but rather an imperative. In the end, businesses are entities that have an impact on people, the society, the economy and on nature. So a good business strategy should not only serve the economic interest of a business, but also benefit the environment the business operates in, making purpose an inseparable part of any strategy. I also believe that purpose well suited in a business’s strategy contribute towards the sustainability of that business.

I am all for a purpose driven strategy because having a clear purpose can enhance our creativity. When individuals know their "why" they tend to feel more inspired to explore imaginative ideas. This is especially important in today's job market, where creativity is needed more than ever and Gen Z values purpose-driven work environments. Patagonia is my favorite example 🌲

I am a big fan of having a plan A and keeping plan B and C on the side. It is always a good exercise to anticipate possible ways in which things may evolve in the future and be ready to take action. This also goes very hand in hand with maintaining a flexible approach in strategy and its execution.
