What do you do if you notice a lack of diverse representation in your workplace?

Set the organization goal on diversity 5.It's essential to provide ongoing / Periodic training and educate on why diversity in the workplace is important and how the team members can actively support it.

When it comes to lack of diverse representation, one has to look at that whether it is happening because if some specific reasons or is general bias. Sometimes lack of diversity in certain field or preference of certain kind of jobs by a particular section can lead to this. We will need to take specific steps to make sure we are creating environment and right support for the diverse candidates and helping them see a bigger picture. In case if bias, it can be more tricky as we need to sort out the reasons, show them results, have tough conversations and may be take difficult decisions if things don’t improve. There is no specific direction for this, it depends upon the context and what are the internal targets organizations want to set.

If I observe a lack of diversity in my workplace, I would initiate proactive measures to address this issue. Initially, I would educate colleagues and management about the significance of diversity and inclusion, emphasizing their positive impact on creativity, innovation, and organizational success. Collaborating with HR and management, I would devise strategies to attract and retain diverse talent, including revising recruitment processes, implementing diversity training, and establishing affinity groups or committees. Moreover, I would aim to cultivate an inclusive environment that fosters open dialogue and provides equal opportunities for all employees to thrive, irrespective of their background or identity.

To increase the representation of diversity in workplace, I believe it all starts with awareness and promoting it through various sessions that highlights the importance and benefits of diversity & educate the various ways of promoting them ,leadership voice, celebrations and also being an advocate of diversity yourself would be a great start.

Como en todo equipo humano, es natural de esperar que surjan inconvenientes inesperados entre los integrantes y aquellos relacionados con las actividades desarrolladas, para poder neutralizarlos, el líder debe focalizarse en el desarrollo de la comunicación interpersonal, llevando a cabo una escucha activa del planteamiento de cada trabajador. Si se lleva a cabo un liderazgo positivo y equitativo, se logrará un aumento de la actividad laboral por parte de cada integrante del equipo de trabajo. Igualmente, cada uno de ellos experimentará una identificación grupal y organizacional, motivo por el cual se alcanzarán los resultados que se han planificado obtener.

It’s very important having diversity and inclusion in the workplace place because it has a massive impact in enhancing the company culture, so it’s crucial to spread awareness about diversity and inclusion by conducting wide events to include communication and activities about the benefits of diversity and inclusion. Also sharing supportive resources to spread awareness about diversity and inclusion such as books, posters …etc.

To design an initiative without full understanding and acceptability will lead us to failures. Thus it is critical to sensitise and make people aware of the need to become more diverse as an Organisation and have focus on determining inclusivity for all. The education, buy in and beginning to build impact on the overall growth and sustainability will enable us to be visible a more diverse Org

It is very important to have diversity and inclusion in the workplace. To manage a diverse workplace, organization need to communicate the policies and procedures, all rules and necessary information should be develop to overcome language and cultural barriers. Organization have to aware the need of diverse organization and has to focus on determining inclusivity for everyone.

The best way to change anything we perceived wrong in a workplace is to stand in gap to call for correction if the call is not in our hands. After a detailed research on the data supporting the point of view that needs to be addressed, it is necessary to reach out to the appropriate channel in the organization responsible for diversity and inclusion and present the case, demonstrate your commitment and responsibility to make the policy makers make a decision that favours the course. Do this with honesty and respect.

Ninguém é detentor de todo conhecimento e experiência que não possa aprender diariamente alguma coisa nova. Essas vivências, colocadas em prática e o RH sendo ponte para isso, faz com que seus colaboradores, além de tudo, tornem-se pessoas mais empáticas e receptivas, pois infelizmente nossa sociedade ainda não está preparada para todo esse movimento de inclusão que temos feito nas empresas e na sociedade.

Look at non-traditional areas to address diversity deficiencies and do not hesitate to destroy long held beliefs which have held up diversity . For example Nursing has always been seen as largely a profession dominated by women from a couple of geographicareas in India.The percentage of male nurses in most hospitals is low . To break this taboo relook at trainable male personnel from the armed forces who retire early or create greater awareness amongst Families of armed forces who may have lost loved ones.

The limited use of salutation and sir names also observed bring Inclusiveness among workforce. Inclusiveness is primarily neutralised through phasing out gender identity and once this factors will be addressed for bigger societal change, the diversity automatically impacted. The importance of productivity be realised once layers of workforces equally engaged or merged among genders, built free and fair environment and work conditions.
