What do you do if you need to delegate tasks in Agile Methodologies versus traditional project management?

In my experience, what we practice in AGILE METHODOLOGY during our sprint planning meeting we distribute total capacity of individual developer into 60:40 ratio where 60% defined to change request/ product backlog and 40% dedicated to incidents/bugs. so, it helps in delegating task to users as per their capacity , skills, technology, application, project. In WATERFALL METHODOLOGY - what I feel we basically implement where we know the problem and solution too, so task delegation is quite easier in this method as all tasks are predefined with solutions and timelines.

Task delegation is the act of redirecting tasks and initiatives to other team members. We might delegate work to distribute responsibility more evenly, because the task is more relevant to other team members'priorities, skills and interests

The traditional method has a more stiff way of delegating tasks. There is little room for change and it sometimes needs to be decided by top members before it's changed. The agile system takes away that bottleneck and gives more power to the project manager to decide on the task delegation and it's very dynamic. That's to say that it can change according to requirements.

When tasks are delegated well, we can increase the trust and commitment with the team members, productivity improvement will happen and make sure that the right people are performing the tasks that best suit them. It might need some practice to become a good and great delegator.

Challenges of task delegation may be due to the perceptions that they think they can do it better, they are nervous about letting go, they're worried delegating will take longer than just doing the work

However, there are challenges associated with task delegation in agile methodologies. One common challenge is ensuring clarity and alignment regarding roles and responsibilities within self-organizing teams. Without clear communication and understanding of who is accountable for what, tasks may fall through the cracks or duplicate efforts may occur. Additionally, achieving the right balance between autonomy and guidance can be tricky, as too much micromanagement can stifle creativity and innovation, while too little oversight may result in inefficiencies or missed deadlines.

Lo primero que debemos tener en cuenta, es que no se trata de un enfrentamiento entre #agile y gestión de proyectos, cada uno tiene sus puntos fuertes y débiles y debe aplicarse cuando corresponda. A gestión de proyectos se basa en definir un plan, ejecutarlo y seguirlo, para cumplir unos hitos definidos. En este sentido, el jefe de proyecto asigna tareas, porque debemos cumplir un plan. En #agile las fechas y el plan no es lo más importante, por lo que estamos más abiertos a probar e interar. Se da más autonomía a las personas del equipo y responsabilidad en lograr unos resultados, sin necesidad de seguir un plan pre definido
