Balancing IT security trade-offs in our daily business operations is a challenging and complex task that requires careful analysis and decision making. An important point is that to align the cyber security / data protection objectives with the business goals and values ( business and top management involvements) and to mutually assess the risks and benefits of different security options. Another factor is the IT infrastructure and relevant processes. I believe that we should reduce more and more the complexity and vulnerability of IT systems by eliminating unnecessary components and make it more simple (thinking about the cloud computing).
