If your website doesn't load quickly, keep optimizing until it does. - image sizes - caching - minify and remove unnecessary js/libraries - asynchronous loading - lazy load assets outside of the frame - optimize image sizes - no heavy fonts - fix js/console errors

But sometimes, merging too many files into one file, can be a bad idea.. as you will end up creating a single file which will take more time to download.. So, we need to see if combining files is good or bad in your case.
