How can you evaluate a project manager's effectiveness during project closure?

Project Delivery: Evaluate if the project was completed on time and within budget. Quality of Work: Assess the quality of the project's deliverables. They should meet or exceed the project's requirements and stakeholders' expectations. Stakeholder Satisfaction: Measure how satisfied stakeholders are with both the project outcome and the process. Communication Efficiency: Examine how well the project manager communicated with the team, stakeholders. Team Performance and Development: Look at how the project team performed under the manager's leadership. Adherence to Project Methodology: Assess whether the project manager adhered to the chosen project management methodologies (like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall).

In my experience to gather feedback from stakeholder, you have to keep these in mind. First, location. Did you come to where they are most comfortable aka their home turf so that they feel most at ease? Secondly, share an agenda of results and the conflicts you addressed along the way. This way they know that you identified both problems and solutions. This will also allow you to gain trust.

In combination with a SWOT analysis a manager should review key project metrics such as budget variance, schedule adherence, and quality measures. Identify areas where you met it exceeded expectations and where you fell short

In a recent software project, we hit a snag with communication breakdowns causing unexpected delays. To address these issues , I kicked off daily stand-up meetings to improve communication and clarify any misunderstandings. Add in any difficult issues you may have encountered in this project to your personal and/or pmo's project and resolutions historical log. This can be as simple as an excel or confluence sheet you can utilize as a reference guide in future projects with the same or similar issues.
