This will make it easier to identify who is at fault and where both parties can be assisted in resuming collaboration. Colleagues require complete cooperation from one another to work effectively, otherwise, their work will be sloppy.

One thing that helps solve problem is creating a conducive environment. People love to work and think critically in a place that they find it more appreciating. Problem-solving is most often iterative and doesn't have one way cut and mostly depends on the problem. But some problems require experience, having the right breakdown of the problem and figuring out the need of the problem you want to solve. The first step is to identify the problem or difficulty, give your feedback on that problem, and show other points of view through teamwork. It is important to follow up, help the team set goals for problem-solving, and also allow room for mistakes, a learning process will have errors along the way. Finally, use tools that can assist in the execution according to the problem encountered.

Communicate with team member and understand in which areas they are struggling to identify issue whether it's related to technical or analytical. Basis on that, guide accordingly by providing fundamentals examples and how you'd resolve it. And then give a quiz and ask team member how he/she would resolve it. Provide constructive feedback. Also share any online articles for reference. Be patient, let team member take initiative and only give minor hints wherever stuck, appreciate if issues were identified. Slowly, start involving team member in identifying bigger challenges to improve their problem solving skills

Analyze the issue. Get a better understanding of how that person sees it and looking at it from the perspective they see it may help you better help them to see a different prospective they may have not seen or only a certain way.

Often while guiding someone, unknowingly, we tend to spoon feed them, the job of the guide is to give hints and let them find their own way. This way the problem solved can have better and positive effect on the person and sense of accomplishment will be higher

Offering guidelines and steps for resolving the issue will go a long way. For example, the issue could be borrowing a pen and failing to return it to its rightful owner. It can be recorded that I borrowed your pen and returned it on this day and time. If anything comes up regarding the pen, this will serve as documentation that it was returned.

One thing I've found helpful during orientation with a new team member is by using brainstorming technique and explaining the logic behind the reason of a certain process for them not just memorize the flow of a specific process but to also understand the reason behind it. I always start explaining it to my team member by HOW did I execute the process and WHY did I do it.

Be respectful and friendly while offering guidance and do not judge for their lack of knowledge. Better to document your past issues which were encountered and how those were tackled and share with them. Suggest to follow the proven approach to solve new complex issues in stages. For instance, What can I do if returning the pen is difficult? Should I cease borrowing? Should I return it after each use? To avoid issues, should I message the owner every time I forget to return it? This is how to brainstorm, this way you will come up with a good idea.

It is important to generate as many solutions as possible before analyzing the solutions or trying to implement them. There are many different methods for generating solutions. Depending on your situation, you may try brainstorming, brainwriting, or mindmapping

To improve creativity of the team, once they got the basics of problem solving do not restrict them to adhere to one approach. Encourage them to come up with their own out of the box solutions that would be practical. Suggest them what's possible and what's not possible. Ask them to check if there is any possibilities in non possible areas. Provide a medium for team to share their thoughts together and come up with unique solution. Reward them for the same
