Visual aids are not just supplementary; they are a cornerstone of creative communication. Think beyond the standard slide deck to incorporate elements that can truly capture your audience's attention. Use metaphors and storytelling through images, infographics, or even short videos to make complex information more digestible and memorable. The right visual can act as a powerful anchor for your message, making it stick long after the presentation is over. Remember, the goal is to complement your words, not overshadow them, so choose visuals that support and enhance your narrative.
-
First, try to define your meeting or presentation GOALs. To catch people's attention => visuals may help. To understand customers' pains and gain trust => content may help. From my personal experience when conducting meetings with clients; building trust etc; you should be a good listener and be creative in asking questions. Questions should be valid, dont follow a form/script. My formula: human touch customization => personalized creativity that people will remember abt you!

This is an excellent teaching too, which I used earlier this year to explain to a Fourth Form student doing Economics, thr concept of Opportunity Cost of Time, by showing how the Carnival Bands evolved from simply selling a costume to play Mas in, to selling you a total experience, where the food, drinks toilet facilities move with the band, whereas in the past, masqueraders would stop to purchase food and drinks from vendors along parade route, and use the toilet facilities of businesses open on the day. He understood immediately the history AND the Economics involved.

I believe that we have two ways using Analogies. One is when we use it in companies with a good agile culture. In this case the analogies are the begin of fast understanding and it is a trigger to great ideas, but I consider one not so good tool in groups without agile culture, because when you use it in these groups, you bring the subject to their world and this approach can be a limit to generate ideas "out of box".
