Other than the general way of building trust (consistency, honesty, working hard, responsible and able to face constructive criticism). Another aspect is to really understand the working culture of the team you are assisting with the changes, just to give a couple of examples for my time in APAC, please note all example I shared below are limited to my own personal experience, none of it should be used to generalise any jurisdiction/ethicnicity. China team: sharing personal social app, be partof the afternoon tea culture, be part of the gaming/drama trend. Trust is essential, and it is earned by following through, doing what you say you are going to do, pivoting when necessary, and not doing this in a silo. Challenge yourself to view things from others shoes/view. Take feedback, questions, and ideas and meet those with follow up and understanding. If you don't do what you say and say what you do no one wants to work with you!

During times of change, building trust and being transparent are key. When team members understand the 'why' and 'how,' they are more likely to buy into the initiative. Encourage open communication, creating a safe space where team members can voice their concerns and share their ideas. This fosters a sense of ownership and commitment. Trust is built through consistency and reliability and so, follow through on your promises and maintain open lines of communication. It's essential to be approachable, demonstrating that you are invested in both the process and the people involved. A collaborative team environment is crucial for successful change initiatives.

Articulating a clear vision for the future is essential when leading cross-functional teams through change. It's important to communicate not just the organizational benefits, but also the personal and professional growth opportunities for the team members. Inspire and motivate your team by connecting their work to the overall success of the initiative. Paint a vivid picture of the future to make the vision tangible and relatable. Regularly revisit and reinforce this vision to keep it top of mind and create a unified direction.

I have found it helpful to state a clear vision for the end state post the organizational change in a sentence or two, even if all the pieces are not fully worked out. This statement needs to be reiterated progressively during interactions through the course of the change to build a common understanding of the end state. In doing so it is important to align the functional expertise of the different teams that are involved to create clarity on how they may be able to drive the desired change.

Watching a well-oiled team that is supported, cared for, heard, communicated with, and who are also trusted and challenged is not hard to establish. You are not in a position to be the "boss". You are in the position to help employees find their best selves and know that you are there to support them no matter what. Find the passion within each team member and support that while building them up in other skill sets and watching them take off and exceed even their expectations!

After so many years, have these expectations: -people will not read what you sent -people will not pay attention in meetings -people will not speak up during transition So far the only ways I find useful is l: -make them accountable to sign off -make this change part of their KPI (with monetary or promotion attached to it) Otherwise, there's no connecting (practical) incentives between high level visions and operational day to day.
