A escuta ativa deve ser também revestida de uma postura empática, em que genuinamente estamos interessados em compreender o ponto de vista do outro e absorver dele aprendizado e conhecimento. Não devemos ouvir simplesmente com o objetivo de formular uma resposta. Praticar a escuta ativa refina a comunicação e contribui para a construção de confiança. Além disso é uma forma consistente de resolver conflitos. Quando praticamos a escuta ativa, ampliamos perspectivas e a qualidade da tomada de decisões.

Para uma boa tática de escuta ativa existem duas coisas muito importantes na gestão de sua unidade, negócio ou empresa: - ciclo de reuniões ativos de forma 360 - reuniões de feedback individual com periodicidade máxima de 3 meses com sua equipe direta. Mantendo essas duas coisa você sempre poderá aprimorar seu trabalho conforme a visão das pessoas que estão evoluindo junto com você no negócio, além de manter todos seus subordinados motivados e seguros de suas funções e atividades.

Eventually you create a high engagement culture where prople come with problems and resolve with solutions through collective group thinking. This is where you elevate your team as a leader while taking on the role of a facilitator.

In my experience, I try to include 3 periods in each meeting: -Around the table for the discussion at hand -Call on those who have not said much to ensure he/she has the opportunity to add to the meeting -Finish with a final around the table for closing items after we have assigned tasks as meeting output

Muitas empresas não tem o processo de seções de feedback estruturadas, não possuem feedback 360, o que é bastante importante para o desenvolvimento do colaborador. Para que os líderes deem feedback, eles precisam ser treinados e também precisam estar abertos a receber. “Feedback é um presente. Se eu te dou feedback é porque acredito na sua capacidade de desenvolvimento.” Seja aberto a dar feedback e principalmente a recebê-lo!

Having both parties have open dialogue with you not only allows the appropriate questions to be asked as to why this conflict has occurred- it also helps with emotional development. Our part as leaders is to make sure all parties are heard in a way that doesn’t hinder productivity and without putting the other parties down.

Address conflicts promptly and impartially, creating a safe space for respectful dialogue. By mediating fairly, you show that every opinion is valuable and collaborative solutions are a priority. Using Nonviolent Communication (NVC) focuses on expressing feelings and needs without blame, fostering empathy and understanding. I have found repeatedly that this approach creates a supportive environment where team members feel safe to share thoughts and emotions leading to constructive problem-solving and a culture of mutual respect.

All the above is correct. But the very first thing a leader needs to do is to be humble enough to create an evironment where everyone can feel safe to openly share their opinion and respected regardless what is their background without any worry of repercussion. Whaever instrument or protocol in place, will have no meaning if the leader is self centered and stubborn with his/her own opinion, and worse, listen more from someone outside of their organization instead their own Team. It immediately destroy the team confidence, trust and sending a wrong signal that the leader does not believing their own team. Remember this, "Leaders who don’t listen will eventually be surrounded by people who have nothing to say"

All the above points contribute in team management, however a team leader should always act in benefit of team member and orient them towards organizational goals.

The team respects and values a team member naturally for their expertise that was demonstrated. When a team member is an expert in something, his words are being listened to. As a team leader - make sure you give each team member an opportunity to master something: a task, an area, etc. In order to do it - find something they are passionate about. Then let them master it. Then you have a win-win situation.
