Know your worth and value! that is the first I can recommend. A male friend told me that and it really made a difference. Also, have in mind female role models, from the same industry or in general. Women who broke the circle or share their wisdom and expertise - reach out to them. In addition, making allies in your industry is useful - men or women. Finally, persevere at achieving your goal.

We know that women can often feel more isolated in male dominated industries and struggle to ask (or find) help. Mentors are a great way to build confidence and have a strong support network, and should be cultivated over time . Here are ways you can do that: Make a list of past and present leaders who have positively impacted your career. Reach out to them and ask for a virtual coffee. Start the conversation as a reconnect, but then look for opportunities to start weaving in your questions around support and asking for feedback. Look for opportunities in your current workplace - even senior leaders who you don't work with, but know them to be supportive. Follow up regularly and remember to also thank them for their support.

One of the best ways I've found to assert myself in male-dominated discussions is not to just simply speak my truth, but to use the power of calibrated open-ended questions to draw attention to different points of view (mine), in a way that makes them feel like they are still in control of the conversation, even though I have taken the reigns of the focus with my questions.
