The best way to win people’s heart and mind is humour. Add humour in your speech the rest will be great to greater. Your presentation should be timed and should have a proper layout of colour shades.

I like to use practical examples from my work experiences and personal life during my presentations to make the topics relatable to my audience. When that's done, the message gets across more effectively because I know they've experienced the same and they now see there are different ways of dealing with an issue.

Make sure you have an element of "feel" in your presentation. How does the topic make you "feel" or how should it make your audience "feel". This is where you will be remembered, or better yet, your topic will be remembered for application. I bring in a lot, sometimes too many, examples of where I have learnt, failed, been supported which lead to specific instances of how I felt prior, during and after.

Stories, common incidents, and examples with a learning, would be well appreciated by the audience, besides showing that you got a rich experience in the market.

End with a call to action or a thought-provoking statement to leave a lasting impression. Practice and Rehearse: Practice your presentation multiple times to ensure smooth delivery. Rehearse in front of a mirror or with a colleague to get feedback on your delivery and identify areas for improvement.

Make it interactive! Pose questions throughout to gauge audience understanding and spark discussion. In addition, use polls or quizzes, online tools allow for real-time audience participation, keeping them involved. And finally, don't be restricted to the podium or one position. Strategic movement can emphasize points and add dynamism.

A simple “trick” used by renown speakers is to “plant” few questions within the audience, eg by the support team, to be asked. It breaks the ice perfectly and encourages rest of the crowd.

I’m aware many presenters plant audience members to ask questions during a Q&A, yet I find an effective way to involve and engage audience members is to ask interactive questions throughout your presentations that request them to respond with a show-of-hands, or callouts. Remain adaptable to extemporaneously respond to their responses and keep the energy high, throughout, while providing actionable and inspirational takeaways.

One must repeatedly make modifications and then reassess. Honestly, the "science" is akin to a quality improvement PDSA cycle (Plan, Do, Study, Act). Plan your presentation, collect feedback and reflect on your presentation's execution, compare your results to your desired outcome and capture learning, and finally, conclude whether to adopt your presentation as is, make adaptations, or abandon it.

External Factors Related to the audience present in this training/course/ etc.. While many organizations spend effort to deliver training for people that already either dont need it or are not interested in first place to attend, even if you provide games outside the office, food, and stress free environment, It's better to focus on keeping people busy doing individual tasks which can be manipulated to correlation afterwards. Or just let them enjoy their time and get one interested attendee alignment outside the crowd.

Incorporate interactive elements like real-world scenarios, problem-solving exercises, and questions that stimulate critical thinking. I leverage storytelling to weave a narrative through the content, making complex ideas more relatable and memorable. Visual aids are designed to complement the message, using clear, impactful imagery and minimal text. Feedback mechanisms, such as live polls or Q&A sessions, are integrated to create two-way dialogue, ensuring the audience feels involved, this leverages their experience also. I try to transform presentations into dynamic learning experiences that engage more parts of the brain for better retention.

I’d like to add one thing which I find so beneficial and engaging. I usually ask open questions about the subject and after giving information, I solicit their lived experience relative to discussion. particulary, having their attention with stories and letting them discuss with ‘what if’ questions as a group make participants think out of the box. I believe once tools meet the real experience, curiosity starts to show itself and it leads learning.
