Base off experience in my field, when preparing for a job interview, strategies to set yourself apart from other candidates may defer, I just mention a few helpful tips. Research thoroughly about the company’s background, mission, and recent achievements. Showcase your knowledge during the interview by referencing specific details. This demonstrates your genuine interest and proactive approach. Also highlighting your unique skills and experiences by Identifying what makes you distinct. Share anecdotes that showcase your problem-solving abilities, adaptability, or leadership skills.

A job interview can feel like a blindfolded competition for candidates. It becomes a guessing game, trying to understand what the interviewer wants to hear, their expectations, and who your competitors might be, all while grappling with the company's requirements. In such uncertain conditions, the key to standing out is to be friendly, assertive, and proactive, while also avoiding being overly intrusive. It's essential to try to stay relaxed throughout the interview, not rushing, and maintaining your pace while attentively listening to the questions asked and behaving correspondingly. Additionally, prepare a self-presentation that effectively addresses every requirement outlined in the job description.

Thanks to the Internet, if I know who is going to interview me I will look them up in Google and see if we have anything in common such as a sport we both play or a team we both support. Of course, using any information like that in an interview has to be subtle and seem natural. Otherwise you come across as "creepy." And of course, I would always make sure I have my shoes professionally shined and my suit pressed.

Remember friendliness should not be limited to just the interviewer. Show that courtesy and friendliness with the receptionist and anyone else who may cross your path whilst you are there.

Remember, standing out isn’t about being flashy; it’s about being authentic, well-prepared, and genuinely interested in the role and company. Don't forget a Thank You Message after every interview, it is very important!

Use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to showcase past achievements with impactful results. Genuine Enthusiasm: Show passion for the role and the company's mission. Ask insightful questions that demonstrate your interest. Be Yourself: Confidence comes from authenticity. Let your personality shine through while maintaining professionalism. Follow Up: Thank the interviewer(s) with a personalized note reiterating your interest and qualifications.

In my experience, making a mark in a job interview involves highlighting what sets you apart. When applying for a job, you're always going to be presented with what is expected of you, often time's interviewers or recruiters whichever you may prefer bring up questions and scenarios from the roles identified. Imagine a job where a knowledgeable Ms excel user is needed and you go for the individual without doing some warm ups on Excel; you'll fumble big time cause that's what they might want to test out but you didn't practice before hand! But, if you did practice you'll be amazed as to how you'll ace your interview. No long talk, study the roles and practice them, you'll see the difference.

Demonstrate your willingness to learn and grow. Lastly, don't forget to be yourself and let your personality shine through. Be confident, engaging, and attentive during the interview.
