Lo más complejo en un equipo remoto son las comunicaciones. En general se realizan en un solo sentido y no se chequea qué entendió el receptor. Además, la mayoría de los equipos se comunica mediante canales escritos y si tienen reuniones no encienden sus cámaras. Esto es todo lo que no hay que hacer... se presta a confusiones, nunca están actualizados, el que escribe cree que sí lo están, el líder no puede "ver" literalmente a las personas. Solución: líder con habilidades de coach, reuniones sincrónicas con cámara abierta y enfocadas, estrategias y procedimientos para algunas comunicaciones muy criticas.
