It would require a lot of re-work, which in worse-case scenarios, can even lead to scrapping the entire project. It is a huge cost to pay; something that can be avoided if AI ethics are embedded by design and are thought through early in the project lifecycle.

Examples: 1. Predictive modeling of an equipment failure which was thought to be an advanced AI problem, where as a simple statistics modeling (time series) could solve it 2. Every chatbot in the world is taking an AI route - traditional RPA/bots can sometimes solve it at lower cost
