Transforming criticism into a stepping stone for growth starts with viewing feedback as an opportunity for improvement rather than a setback. By actively listening to the criticism, I focus on identifying areas where I can grow. I reflect on the feedback to understand its validity, then create a plan to address the gaps or issues raised. For example, after receiving constructive criticism on a project, I used it to fine-tune my skills, seek additional learning resources, and apply the feedback to future work. Over time, this approach has strengthened my performance and built resilience, turning challenges into learning opportunities.

As leaders, we need to swallow the pride and look for the truth in there. Where you go from here is up to you. It's an opportunity for growth, often personally and professionally. Growth is rarely comfortable.
Show appreciation for the feedback, even if it's hard to hear. Done in a professional manner, it mean the environment is safe for team members to be authentic. It also shows that you value constructive criticism. But also evaluate the source and sample size.
When reflecting on the criticism, it's important to reflect on the truthfulness or accuracy but also on the relevancy and respond accordingly. Is the content salvageable, or do you need to start from scratch? What metrics will you use to evaluate success?

I think in life more generally, the smaller my ego is, the more I can learn. Taking a pause between **event** and my **action** has been a huge help to me here. So in this case, I might receive the criticisms, and just say thank you to everyone who has shared - it takes guts to go into confrontation and maybe they have been worried about bringing it up.
Then, I would tell them I'm going to go away and spend some time with their comments and get back to them with my response in, say, 48 hours.
That way, I have time to make sure I am calm and can respond logically. And my team know I am taking them seriously because we have an agreed date and time when they are going to hear back from me with a considered response.
