You need to schedule your team’s work hours. What are the most innovative software options?

I love Microsoft Shifts for one. As it is embedded within Microsoft Teams which is used by most organisations. It is designed specifically for shift-based work. It allows me to create and manage schedules for my team, assign shifts to employees and track attendance as well. Team members can also view their schedules and request for time off through the Shifts app.

First and foremost, it would be important to know which kind of software the organization is using. For budget constraints, it may be difficult to have tailored software for a particular team within the organization. For past and current work, we have been using Google which is very flexible in terms of sharing calendars with everyone across the team. As such, I would ask the team members to be transparent and accountable in sharing their calendars. Lastly, this needs to be a collaborative approach in terms of planning with purpose.

I, personally, think this is a great tool. It let the people to come to an agreed arrangement. It involves and put the responsibility on everyone. On the other hand it needs a good coordinator able to negotiate in case the situation get stuck or some conflicts emerge

Personalmente me gusta mucho el Microsoft Planner para planificar tareas. Puedo planificar tareas y especificar el detalle de la misma por varios meses por adelantado. El resto del equipo puede ver la programación y tambien poner comentarios. Se pueden hacer modificaciones de forma amigable y se puede sincronizar con el correo electrónico. Una vez culminada la tarea, el colaborador puede marcar la culminación (o cancelación) con los respectivos detalles. Se puede usar con telefonos moviles y se pueden obtener diversas estadisticas de las horas trabajadas, tickets atendidos o lo que corresponda.

I feel that “Mobil apps” are really just part of the cloud/coillabrative systems. An extension rather than a system itself.

Mobile App such as Whatsapp easy to create and manage your group of team, easy to get suggestion and give instructions. Polls also available if you want to gather majority opinion where team members have different opinion. And the most important very easy to manage and quick as everyone know how to use and operate and system requirement is only a smartphone (any) and internet connection.

When referring to employee scheduling, I feel that first you need to understand availability and capacity. A simple mobile solution is Teams - Shifts. Pairing off a SharePoint site it becomes a great tool for tracking vacation, meetings, training, sick time or others. It’s visible to the team and you can drop notes within to collaborate. The other benefit is that it enables group chat with a direct connection to the share site through a “SharePoint group”. Very responsive and convenient so consider this if looking.
