You need to evaluate a motivational speaker's performance. How do you know if they've hit the mark?

The in process evaluation happens when the speaker connect with the audience by true story and the acceptance of the same by body language of the audience itself is the biggest acceptance, adding top of it is the way in which speaker is reciprocated with queries

Motivational speakers rely on three key pillars- Content, Emotions, and Delivery. To see whether he/she has hit the mark can be done by evaluating the following parameters- 1. Audience Response and Connect- The body language of the audience is the key and speaks volumes. 2. Content Acceptance- Whether the storyline created by the speaker is accepted and appreciated or the audience is attending passively. 3. Delivery Skills- Speaker attachment and know-how of his/her audience is a crucial benchmark to see how well both understand each other. Lastly, Feedback received after the session will help in unveiling the true picture of the event.

La audiencia lo dice todo. Cuando al termino de tu presentación notas un mover en la actitud de los oyentes, tu mensaje esta siendo procesado en su mente y en su corazón. Logras la reflexión en ellos para cambiar su manera de pensar y su manera de vivir. El motivador logra romper viejos esquemas y se levanta una nueva acctitud o acción en el oyente.

For me, the truest test of audience interest comes at the end: are there questions? Audiences that are truly engaged want to engage more. They want to know more. They want to deeply examine what the speaker has shared. As a speaker, there should be a sinking feeling if you finish up, ask for questions and get blank looks or crickets.

Vit-il une expérience émotionnelle forte qui rendra la prestation mémorable ? A-t-il applaudit chaudement ? (Et pas par courtoisie, la différence et l’intensité s’entend) Vient-il s’entretenir avec vous à la fin pour vous poser des questions ou tout simplement vous remercier ?

Audience reaction is great, but how impactful is your speech six months to six years down the road. Did it change the lives of the people that you are speaking to? presentation that will continue to impact people long after they walk out of the door.

It all depends on the goal of the motivational talk. Gauging results for these kinds of talks can be quite complicated since most of the results are anecdotal at best and not always quantitative. So your best bet is to give the audience a way to give both anecdotal and objective feedback not just after the speech is done but also 2 weeks after the speech. Motivational talks ought not to just fire people up for a moment…they ought to fire them up and help redirect that fire into meaningful change and progress in real life. Yes the audience is clapping and laughing, and unless if that was the goal for the talk…the speaker needs to help inspire the audience to DO.

In my experience, having a good understanding and gauge of the audience helps you as a speaker on stage better gauge yourself and where you are in your ability to connect with that audience. How do we do this? You can use the audience's reactions in your delivery during those crucial points you know are in your presentation, know when to emote or hype the audience, or know when to bring it down. Knowing yourself and your speech is vital: rehearse, rehearse, and practice. Over time, you will be a better gauge of how to get the most out of your audience. But first, you need to take the first step!

From my time on stage giving presentations, I learned that it dramatically helps when you have engaging content as impactful as your voice. Stay fluid while on stage, never be stagnant, and use your content to your advantage- play off the content and have fun.

Delivery is huge. How you deliver your content to the audience will determine the presentation's success. A speaking event can frequently be dull because the speaker is intimidated by the stage or needs to be more confident in their ability to deliver the content. Knowing the content is #1, and knowing yourself and trusting your communication abilities is #2. Use eye contact, use your hands if it helps you, walk the stage, use emotions, be bold, be strong, and own the presentation.
