What do you do if you're struggling to meet early deadlines for your presentation?

Following are the ways during as task assessment: - i frequently assess the reality of deadline and tasks. - i always timely communicate with the relevant regarding current status of task.

A lot of times, we have a day full of different tasks with different timelines and crucial to be completed early. Something that we can do to prioritize is - 1. Instead of starting right away with the most difficult task, we can make a list of all the important things to do 2. Colour it based on priority, deadlines, and time-consuming power. 3. Would not recommend starting right away with a lengthy task, but completing smaller tasks before and taking a small break after each task to get a sense of completion. 4. Make a rough sketch of the key message to be delivered within the presentation.

Sticking to the actual motto of the presentation is the key. The most effective method I've found is to outline the important points in accordance with preference and then add images to make it more interactive. I personally believe "visuals" communicate more effectively than words. Therefore, your material might be more interactive if it can be supported with graphs, charts, and video demonstrations. Using this strategy will not just help you prepare quicker, but it will also ensure that your presentation will effectively engage your audience. In order to fulfill a short deadline, it is therefore preferable to think strategically rather than focusing on quantity. This will enable you to reach your goal within the allotted time.

In my experience, missing a presentation deadline is easily avoidable and manageable in most cases. Instead of missing the deadline it is largely a matter of adjusting the content and extent of the presentation to match the deadline you have to work with. Then you deliver largely the same message with fewer or simpler slides. No one in the audience will notice the difference in most cases.

Incase of short deadlines for preparing presentation deck, firstly, quickly jot down the points that are a “must” for the presentation - prepare the deck accordingly. You may skip some portions that are not so relevant or repetitive - this will save your time and also would aid in focusing on important points.

Many times it is us who place the deadline. While it is true that unexpected situations occur. That should not be the norm. So, when assessing your own deadlines, don’t be too ambitious and give yourself some slack when possible. You will always need the practice. And remember Parkinson’s’ law.
