Project Management was one of the units that I studied in my Master of Business Analytics. It gave a comprehensive overview of how to handle a project from inception to delivery on 'Microsoft Project', a software tool for project managers. It includes concepts like Gantt Charts, Resource Allocation, Cost and Time Estimation, and Scheduling. As a beginner, it is beneficial to learn MS Project or any Software tool that has a Kanban and Sprint planning capability.
Data analysis software is used to interpret complex data and turn it into actionable insights. These tools can range from simple spreadsheet applications to advanced statistical software. In my view, Data Analysis is the most powerful tool in the arsenal of a beginner Business Analyst. Upskill in the following Tools and Tech: 🔸 R Programming / Python / SQL - Data Wrangling 🔸 Tableau & Power BI - Data Visualisation Although it might seem too technical to some people, it is highly recommended that a BA has some technical background. It enables the BA to understand the implementation both from a high (business) and low (technology) level which makes them highly desirable compared to a non-tech BA.
Process mapping tools are used to visually represent the workflows within an organization. They help in understanding and documenting how work is carried out and identifying areas for improvement. As a beginner, you'll find that these tools are invaluable for creating clear, visual representations of processes that can be easily understood by all stakeholders.
