Very proficient teachers could serve as instructors during these sessions. Each new teacher should be assigned a veteran teacher as a technology mentor to help during the year when needed.

I was a teacher for 30 years. I also had 20 years of experience in the real world. I was in my 40s when I began teaching. I was an old dog learning new tricks. School districts and school have a one size fits all mentality. When I started it was sink or swim. If I had problems I would beg someone to help me or call a tech person at district office who was always to busy. Administrators suddenly forget what it is like to be a teacher once they reach their lofty perch. They pass on district nonsense and platitudes. A true leader should be in the trenches with the teachers, supporting and praising their efforts constantly instead of hiding in the office.
