How would you showcase your unique skills and experiences to potential employers during a job interview?

Focus your pitch and personal brand on what you've discovered is important to an individual hiring manager. Don't tailor your interview to what's on the published job description (won't reflect the HMs needs, since it was written by HR), not what you feel you're best at (Low chances the HM will need it), not what you guess that hiring manager might need (the chances of guessing correctly are low). Prove to a hiring manager "I have what you need".

A great way to showcase your skills and experience is to mention times that you have achieved a significant outcome. It could be a huge achievement like delivering a large project or winning a new account. It could be that you are the person that everyone turn to for help when things have gone bad and they need help to get it back on track. what I am getting at is don't sell yourself short by just listing your tasks rather mention what you have achieved in your role.

Achievements are things that are important to you (why would a hiring manager care what's important to you?). Instead, overwhelm hiring managers with the massive impacts you've provided past employers.

Want to set yourself apart from others during interviews? THEN BE SPECIFIC. You should know beforehand why exactly they are hiring and how your background would fit... And give SPECIFIC examples to prove it. If your answers for Company A would have been the same for Company B then the response is not specific enough. Don't make your response generic and boring. The more SPECIFIC you are the MORE you will STAND OUT. Use this 3-step process: 1. Research the heck out of the company and hiring team 2. Draft up answers that use specific examples and focus on the company’s needs 3. For each answer, ask “Does this answer make sense if I swap in a competitor?” If it does, you need to be more specific!

Part of successful communication is storytelling being able to share stories about your success is not only a great way to demonstrate capability but also a great way to build rapport. Being able to show the real you will win over more people than being who you think they want you to be.

Ask leading questions throughout the interview such as "So based on my experience do you think it would be suitable for the role" OR "I would like to know more about xxx and how you think I would fit in based" This type of question shows interest but also leads the interviewer to confirm that they believe you are the right fit for the job.

Hiring managers don't hire skills, qualifications, responsibilities or experience - Those make you appear average, among many others with similar traits. Hiring managers decide 3 basic things about you in an interview: 1) Do you understand my individual current problems (not the garbage in the published job description)? 2) Do you have a strong track record of success, that is relevant to my situation? 3) Can I trust you? Give hiring managers what they need to make your search faster and more successful.
