Make good decision quickly one needs always be on the top of situation and understand what the concern and involve the correct team members to resolve it. As solution at times does not lie with one person. And a good leader need to be proactive and foresee any problems. And for which need to do planning and have check points.

Defining the cause of the problem and analysing the situation(s) that resulted to the problem will be the first step to the solution(s). Afterwards proffer sets of solutions that will be used or applied to solve the problem at hand and possibly prevent future situations .

Decision making come from your information and knowledge besides your experience. -Be prepared for your jobs with complete information and tool sets required to achieve set goals. -Plan your jobs and activities like a project with details required to accomplish the goal. -Discuss your plans with your team and take their input to streamline with their expertise and understanding. -Take proactive measures for you and make contingency plans so that quick decision making will be possible. -Train you team and record their skill sets when ever required opt for the best skilled resource.

For instance, if your team is consistently missing deadlines, asking 'why' five times can uncover fundamental issues such as resource allocation or process inefficiencies. Proactivity is a key to making good decisions quickly. In work environments, being aware of team members, workloads, and resources aid in decision making. Asking direct questions regarding the issue ensures you are informed of the current situation to make the best decision; whether it is a temporary fix or complete solution. Unfortunately, there are leaders who are not aware of the needs of the grunts, those actually doing the work. This lack of awareness can hinder ones ability to make a better decision more efficiently. One thing I learned in high school has been effective my entire life, the 5 P's; Proper Planning Prevents Poor Performance. The 5 Whys lead right back to the 5 P's. Also follow the decision with an evaluation.

To suggest good quick decisions are exclusive to problem solving is a narrow perspective. I believe every decision we make should be a natural end, not a quick one, to logical construct. Effective leaders don’t make quick decisions, they make good choices naturally-it is their first nature.

Good to Great decision-making is itself a process that one master over years of experience and of course, a lot of failure. Yes, a culture to adopt Failure as part of the decision making makes it a proven process. Feedback, Refining are crucial to convert it "Good" to "Great".

In my experience it’s always best to involve the personnel in the trenches. A copious amount of information is missed when merely doing observations. Regardless of education, the skills and tricks of the trade spawn new ideas.

It's my experience from working with feet on the ground, they are the salt of the earth & can add volumes of on-site information to any conversation. That's when top contributors or specialists in their area of expertise can learn.

In a recent workplace experience, I observed an instructive example and gained valuable insights. A grievance report prompted my Commissioner to take decisive and high-quality actions. He efficiently requested portfolios, reconsidered his approval, and thereby instigated swift corrective measures. This led to the prompt rectification of an oversight within the approved committee or panel members for a crucial mission. Notably, certain key members possessing essential expertise and skill sets had been inadvertently omitted from the list. These individuals had more valuable contributions to bring, that will provide deeper insights, and had more significant impact to support the initiative compared to their counterparts.

Beware of false choices. The pressures of daily business can often leave team members feeling cornered. Some decisions should not be made quickly. Define your operating principles. The company values and goals are defined and written down. Are yours? Do you truly believe in them? Most of your decisions should be a reflection of those principles.
