It fosters a sense of purpose, empowerment, and ownership among the workforce, making them truly invested in the company's mission.

In this process, we often overlook the importance of authenticity and genuine connection that we had when we were physically close in the office, along with the challenges we faced then. To build trust and rapport in my organization, I employ four key actions: being clear and sincere, fostering open communication (both ways), being direct (avoiding circular discussions), and actively listening (at all times and in all places). These actions can facilitate effective communication in today's agile work environment and bring transparency to all involved, contributing to the success of the organization.

It can also be used to adjust responsibilities, provide new challenges, or assign special tasks. Meanwhile, the weekly 1-hour open space is a valuable time to connect with your team, actively listen to their thoughts and concerns, and empower them with tools and confidence.

Clarify the emotional intent of the communication. Vague digital communications such as "fine" can leave recipients spending unproductive time and energy reading into the emotional intent behind the text. 90% of the time people think their emails and texts are understood by recipients, but the messages are understood only 50% of the time. As digital communications grow, the lack of facial expressions and tone of voice leaves more room for misinterpretation. When the intent of a message isn't clear, humans will fill in the gaps using a negative bias and will assume the worst. In order to avoid negative biases hijacking the intended meaning of your digital communications, clarify the emotional intent of your communications.

It is crucial to address the challenges of team collaboration and communication, especially in a virtual environment. To start, clearly communicate your vision and align it with your teams. Provide tools and resources to enhance virtual collaboration. Encourage regular check-ins and open communication channels to foster trust and transparency. Lead by example with open, honest, and transparent communication, and promote diversity and inclusion initiatives to build trust among peers and encourage authenticity in the organization. Utilize the provided tools to assess the current state of the business and identify areas for improvement.
