Algorithmic bias has dire and real life consequences. Algorithms tend to reflect the cognitive biases of their designers and trainers. This has had some resious negative consequences in hiring bots, low enforcement screening, financial services eligibility and even elections manipulation. Its imperative to have a diverse team design and train algorithms and inplement checks and balances to identify and correct any unethical outcomes as they arise.
